About The Position

Trystar is a leader in portable and permanent power distribution solutions.  The Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator provides administrative, technical, and program support to ensure effective implementation of the company’s HSE management systems across multiple manufacturing sites. This position supports compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulation, maintains accurate records, assists with audits, and helps drive a strong safety culture through consistent communication, reporting, and coordination of HSE and Security activities. This role will collaborate with our HSE Team, and contribute to complex projects, as well as work independently on routine administration activities. This role will report to Trystar HSE Director.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred (Health, Safety, Environmental, Administrative, or related field).
  • 2-4 years of EHS, administrative, compliance or data management experience
  • Experience with HSE software systems or databases (e.g., VelocityEHS, Intelex, Enablon, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to visit other sites and support with safety audits and initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (HSE, Safety, Environmental Science, or related)
  • 2-4 years of environmental, health & safety experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams/Sharepoint, Power BI.
  • Successful support of health, safety, and environmental programs
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion on environmental, health & safety matters
  • Flexibility to work extended or later hours periodically to support second shift

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter resource for HSE administrative and compliance.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of enterprise HSE programs, policies, and procedures across all Trystar manufacturing sites.
  • Responsible for the collection and reporting of safety and environmental metrics (injuries, near misses, training, inspections, waste, emissions, etc.).
  • Maintain EHS management systems accuracy and integrity, including databases for training, incidents, inspections, and compliance tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain enterprise HSE dashboards, scorecards and monthly/quarterly reports for leadership review.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using performance data and risk trends, and determine necessary program enhancements
  • Advise HSE leadership and site teams on regulatory requirements, compliance risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal regulations. Recommend policy changes and compliance strategies to safety leadership.
  • Oversee enterprise regulatory documentation including OSHA logs, environmental permits, waste records, and audit reports.
  • Support consistency and documentation across Enterprise sites for compliance programs such as Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Chemical Management, and Emergency Preparedness.
  • Establish and manage enterprise HSE training governance, including curriculum standards, completion requirements, timeliness of training, and documentation.
  • Design and conduct HSE training for employees on topics such as new hire orientation, and other topics as needed for all Enterprise locations.
  • Prepare and distribute EHS communications, safety alerts, and monthly reports.
  • Design and coordinate safety committee meetings, agendas, and minutes.
  • Collaborate with other functions (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, etc.) to support the establishment of the necessary documents within the HSE operating system.
  • Implement and maintain records control, auditing, tracking and corrective actions related to HSE incident investigations.
  • Assist with internal audits, inspections, and corporate EHS reviews.
  • Coordinate follow up on open corrective actions and maintain closure documentation.
  • Compile and summarize audit and inspection results for management review.
  • Support other functions to create effective documentation and to fit within a standardized framework.
  • Identify and lead improvements to HSE data systems, tools, and reporting processes
  • Participate in projects for deployment of new HSE tools, software, or process improvements.
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives including new location startups, acquisitions, and business integrations.
  • Support enterprise sustainability, environmental initiatives, and security initiatives.
  • Contribute in HSE meetings and to team initiatives for performance improvement.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, consistency, and recognition.
