About The Position

The EH&S Business Partner develops safety and security programs, supervises security staff, and trains warehouse staff. Reporting to the Group Logistics Manager, they are accountable for injury prevention and incident reduction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise security staff to ensure the safety of personnel and products.
  • Develop and enforce safety and security procedures.
  • Align HSE policies with Ryder goals and standards.
  • Observe and train personnel, including material handlers and drivers.
  • Ensure operational equipment is serviced and maintained
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Attend to security and safety incidents as needed, 24/7.
  • Maintain hazard-free operations.
  • Comply with Canadian Ministry of Labour safety requirements.
  • Develop solutions for new safety initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Attend shift meetings and engage with personnel.
  • Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Facilitate Ryder-specific program requirements.
  • Conduct monthly inspections.
  • Liaise with current Ryder Health and Safety Analyst to ensure Ryder reporting and training procedures are communicated and completed as per Ryder policy
  • Maintain an effective loss prevention program.
  • Ensure the security of Customer products and information.
  • Manage facility access control and supervise security personnel.
  • Review perimeter-check logs and create post orders.
  • Serve as C-TPAT/PIP expert, training and auditing operations.
  • Investigate incidents and respond to emergencies 24/7.
  • Maintain and demonstrate fire prevention activities.
  • Develop and monitor programs for handling flammable materials and maintaining fire control equipment.
  • Ensure employees are trained in fire extinguisher use.
  • Liaise with Environmental Services and maintain an environmental management system (EMS) that meets jurisdictional requirements.
  • Focus on pollution prevention, continual improvement, compliance, and employee training.
