Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering & Business, or related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and spend time on the production floor.
- Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and temperature variation.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Develop EH&S documents to be implemented into programs, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in the development, implementation and management of safety training programs, policies, and procedures.
- Update existing EH&S programs, policies, and procedures.
- Support emergency preparedness drills and response planning.
- Conduct PPE and machine guarding compliance audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
- Gather data that pertains to the monthly EH&S metrics.
- Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and develop corrective actions.
- Create and co-lead EHS training courses as needed.
- Support emergency preparedness drills and response planning.
- Perform any other duties established by the site EH&S team.
