Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering & Business, or related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and spend time on the production floor.
  • Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and temperature variation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Develop EH&S documents to be implemented into programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and management of safety training programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Update existing EH&S programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Support emergency preparedness drills and response planning.
  • Conduct PPE and machine guarding compliance audits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Gather data that pertains to the monthly EH&S metrics.
  • Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and develop corrective actions.
  • Create and co-lead EHS training courses as needed.
  • Support emergency preparedness drills and response planning.
  • Perform any other duties established by the site EH&S team.
