Position Summary: The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and company requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture across operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Familiarity with hazard analysis and risk assessment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain records
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physical ability to: Lift, balance, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in industrial and office environments
  • Work in harsh environmental conditions (extreme heat and cold)
  • Passport or work authorization to work in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 2–5 years of EHS or related experience
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (required within 90 days if not already obtained)
  • ASP, CSP, or similar credentials

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA)
  • Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, programs, and procedures
  • Maintains required environmental permits, records, and documentation
  • Assists in regulatory reporting and inspections
  • Conducts job hazard analyses (JHA/JSA) and risk assessments
  • Identifies workplace hazards and implements corrective and preventive actions
  • Evaluates effectiveness of controls and recommends improvements to reduce risk
  • Conducts routine EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assessments
  • Tracks, documents, and follows up on corrective actions
  • Monitors contractor and vendor compliance
  • Manages and tracks hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste
  • Supports spill prevention and environmental protection programs
  • Assists with sustainability initiatives and waste minimization
  • Delivers and coordinates EHS training programs
  • Promotes a proactive safety culture
  • Provides guidance on safe work practices and regulatory requirements
  • Supports reporting and analysis of incidents and near misses
  • Participates in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Tracks and reports key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of EHS programs
  • Other duties as assigned
