About The Position

Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator/Specialist needed at a manufacturing plant. Excellent benefits provided. This job is in Mattoon, IL. You will be responsible for guiding safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the company. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, such as OSHA and EPA Foster an incident and accident-free workplace through education, coaching, training. Analyze and take corrective action on accidents involving people or property. Create and monitor safety and accident prevention statistics. Assist with workers’ compensation reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, in Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Health and Safety. Two-year degrees may be considered with good experience.
One or two years' experience with a four year degree, in a manufacturing environment. More experience is necessary with a two year degree. Must have experience in an EHS role with a manufacturing company.
Military and other experience in workplace safety will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must have excellent skills with MS Office tools for the purpose of writing reports, communication by email, analyzing statistics, developing PowerPoint presentations.
Must be willing to work in a factory/manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Internships or co-op experience are great pluses.
Some knowledge about Behavior Based Safety programs.
