About The Position

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe workplace and protect employees from hazards while maintaining strict compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations. This role involves proactive risk management, training, incident investigation, and data analysis to foster a strong, organization-wide safety culture.

Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of general industry health and safety guidelines
  • Must have OSHA Accident Investigation Certificate/NSC Incident Investigation/Equivalent Written Accident Investigation OR Advanced Trainer with strong industry knowledge and/or ability to adapt and apply different learning and delivery techniques.
  • Skill in delivering responsive, high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Advanced proficiency (knowledge) with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • Combined experience in general and construction safety, health and environmental safety, or risk management practices of 8 or more years with education is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures organizational compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards.
  • Develops/Updates/Maintains and implements company written programs to meet or exceed compliance.
  • Conduct safety training and maintain all records and documents necessary to support compliance.
  • Provides appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for managers and supervisors.
  • Investigates accidents/incidents with employees at all levels of the organization, including management, supervisors, and workers, to prevent recurrences through eliminating or reducing exposure to identified hazards.
  • Prepares appropriate notices for management to issue hazard recognition and abatement of identified hazards.
  • Assures that claims for injuries and illnesses are posted in the OSHA log.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to compliance.
  • Works with employees at all levels of the organization, including management, supervisors, and workers, to assist in recognizing hazards and project planning to eliminate or reduce exposure to identified hazards.
  • Prepare various reports, including charts and graphs, to determine trends, needs, and effectiveness of programs.
  • Promotes, develops, and administers recognition systems to promote safe and healthy work performance.
