About The Position

Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager Murfreesboro, Tennessee Description At Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, safety isn't just a requirement, it's a responsibility. The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager leads the charge in creating a safe, compliant, and healthy workplace, providing hands-on oversight of all EHS programs while ensuring alignment with OSHA, EPA, DCMA, and ATF standards. This role works side by side with operations to strengthen safety culture and drive meaningful, lasting improvements. About the Role Own OSHA, EPA, TDEC, and site-wide regulatory compliance, audits, and reporting. Build and drive practical health, safety, and environmental programs that work on the floor. Train employees at all levels on safety, environmental, and emergency procedures; support onboarding. Maintain all safety documentation, reporting, and SDS/MSDS records. Reduce risk through audits, investigations, metrics, and continuous improvement actions. Partner with operations and HR to strengthen safety culture and manage Workers' Compensation. About You You're a practical, hands-on safety professional who understands the realities of a manufacturing environment. You take ownership of workplace safety and compliance, balancing regulatory requirements with day-to-day operations. You're comfortable working on the floor as well as with leadership, and you communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively. You bring a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, helping build and sustain a safety culture where employees are informed, engaged, and protected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience leading safety and environmental programs in regulated environments.
  • Experience onboarding, training, and developing employees to foster a strong, safety-driven culture.
  • Demonstrated success leading a site or multiple sites to improve safety and environmental compliance.
  • Background working in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments.
  • Maintain eligibility to work with firearms under state and federal guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred, with experience driving culture change and implementing effective management systems.
