About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs that ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, conducting regular audits, and leading initiatives to minimize risks and enhance workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred; may substitute with relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in using computer software and systems to manage and track safety data and information.
  • Ability to lead and influence others, fostering a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting and training purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Align EHS policies and procedures with ISO 9001 standards to ensure consistent quality management practices across the organization.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and local environmental protection agencies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring understanding safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and environmental protection measures.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with EHS policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, and coordinate drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and regulatory compliance, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance EHS performance and implementing best practices while completing other tasks asked for by management.
