About The Position

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, is looking for talented leaders to add to its global leadership depth and play a role in the current and future success of the organization. The co-op/intern Program provides students with practical work experience in one of many diverse areas. The program allows students to gain a better understanding of the various job opportunities available throughout Goodyear. In addition to challenging, engaging and interesting work assignments, students have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities at work and outside of work. Tours of Goodyear facilities are arranged to help students learn more about the business. Goodyear leaders interact with students to help them begin to think about significant business issues and career options. Students even have the opportunity to speak with the Goodyear Senior Leadership Team. We are looking for talented leaders to strengthen our Environmental Health and Safety programs and play an integral role in the current and future success of the organization. This position will be responsible for supporting regional and plant-level projects associated with environmental health and safety. Completion of the activities will occur within an office and/or manufacturing environment

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety Management, or any other relevant area
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required
  • Mobility & availability for relocation out of state required
  • Expected graduation within 1-2 years of internship
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word a must.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior engineering co-op/internship experience preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of OSHA regulations, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical inspections and audits
  • Creating EHS-related programs
  • Analysis of EHS-related data and the communication of recommendations
  • Investigation of EHS-related incidents
  • Chemical inventory reviews
  • Preparation of reports to management
