Make a Meaningful Impact on Safety, Culture, and Compliance APAC‑Atlantic is seeking a motivated and mission‑driven EHS Coordinator to support our Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and help strengthen safety performance across all divisions, including Ready Mix Concrete, Hot Mix Asphalt, and Concrete/Dirt Construction. What You’ll Do You will play a key role in ensuring our teams work safely and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include: Safety & Environmental Compliance Support compliance with OSHA 1926/1910 and environmental regulations. Conduct field and plant safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments. Partner with local municipalities and agencies on water and air compliance. Maintain emergency response and fire‑prevention readiness. Field Support & Coaching Identify and correct unsafe conditions in real time. Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices. Train employees on safety procedures and equipment use. Conduct weekly jobsite and facility visits across Coastal Georgia and Low Country South Carolina. Incident Response & Prevention Lead or assist with accident and incident investigations. Test for noise, air quality, and other hazards using monitoring equipment. Document findings and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with HR and EHS leadership on workers’ compensation cases. Data, Reporting & Administration Maintain DOT driver qualification files, training records, and compliance documentation. Compile and report weekly EHS metrics to management. Support environmental permitting and compliance tracking. Use HCSS, Riskonnect, and Microsoft Office to organize and analyze data.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of field safety experience in OSHA 1926 and/or OSHA 1910 environments.
  • Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA 49 CFR 380–399 and Part 40.
  • Experience administering DOT and Non‑DOT Drug & Alcohol Programs.
  • OSHA 30 (Construction or General Industry).
  • Strong time management, organization, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays based on business needs.
  • Willingness to travel to plants and jobsites throughout Coastal Georgia and Low Country South Carolina.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 1926 510 Certification.
  • Ability to obtain CHST within the first year.
  • Experience in Ready Mix Concrete, Hot Mix Asphalt, or Construction.
  • Familiarity with HCSS or Riskonnect systems.
  • Strong public speaking and training skills.
