About The Position

Environmental, Health and Safety Assistant Job Description Key Responsibilities: Organize Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information to conform with OSHA's Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) standard and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Gain a broad knowledge of regulatory aspects of EHS concerns as they relate to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Assist in documentation preparation for, and participate in, a comprehensive SMETA 4-Pillar audit performed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or similar regulatory auditors Assist EHS manager in performing routine inspections, EHS related training courses, regulated waste processing, and any other project or task that is overseen by EHS management, and maintain documentation of inspections in their specific filing systems. Handle, stage, weigh, and/or process hazardous waste as needed for shipment. Contributing member of the Safety Committee and related tasks. Gain familiarity with Chemical processes and inventory controls to assist with waste processing. Qualifications Interest in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) as it relates to the workplace. Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet search, and e-file organization. Administrative, project, task, and detail orientated. Ability to read, understand, and differentiate similar but distinctive documents. Ability to collect and organize data. Experience in a manufacturing environment helpful but not required.
