About The Position

S&ME is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking engineer to join our Environmental team in Charlotte, North Carolina. As an Environmental Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of projects that shape safer, cleaner communities-balancing hands‑on fieldwork with impactful office‑based analysis. Your Day-to-Day: Field Leadership - Take charge of soil and groundwater sampling, oversee drilling operations, and guide monitoring well installations to ensure accurate, high‑quality data collection. Data & Reporting - Transform environmental data into clear insights by preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation that drive informed decisions. Project Collaboration - Partner with colleagues to plan and execute site investigations and remediation efforts, maintaining strict quality standards and compliance with environmental regulations. Client Engagement - Build strong relationships by communicating findings and project updates effectively to clients, regulators, and stakeholders. Proposal & Scheduling - Contribute to winning new work by drafting proposals, while keeping projects on track through schedule management and deadline monitoring. Financial Insight - Support business growth by evaluating project budgets and assisting with strategic business development initiatives. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional environmental engineering experience
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and on track to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong project management and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent business development abilities and existing client relationships in the local market are preferred
