Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer or Scientist for our Due Diligence and Compliance Practice in our Titusville, FL office. The position will dig into the details of environmental due diligence and environmental regulatory compliance, working closely with attorneys, while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. . Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Regular fieldwork and overnight travel. (required).
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G.). (preferred)
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment. (preferred)
  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Detailed Federal and California regulatory knowledge, especially RCRA and EPCRA. (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historic research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Providing environmental compliance services, such as compliance audits and reviews (multi-media).
  • Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Providing litigation support services, including related to hazardous waste and material management.
  • Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
