About The Position

The Environmental Data Manager is responsible for importing, quality checking, organizing, maintaining, summarizing, reporting and delivering high- quality environmental data to team members in support of regulatory compliance, environmental monitoring programs, and technical decision-making. This role integrated environmental science expertise with strong programming and data management skills to ensure data integrity, efficient workflows, and defensible reporting across multiple environmental programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and experience working with environmental data.
  • Strong programming skills (Python, Typescript, Node.js) and familiarity with SQL relational databases.
  • Experience with environmental data platforms (Envirodata preferred)
  • Skills in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI and ArcGIS
  • Ability to translate complex databases into clear, usable outputs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement mindset
  • Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently
  • Experience with GitHub and Microsoft 365
  • Ability to maintain scripts or application components supporting data workflows

Responsibilities

  • Manage QA/QC, and maintain environmental datasets across multiple programs
  • Build and maintain automated data workflows using Python, SQL, and other scripting tools
  • Administer environmental data systems (e.g., Envirodata) and ensure accurate data storage and retrieval.
  • Produce data summaries, visuals, and reports for internal teams and regulatory needs.
  • Work with project manager and technical staff to define data requirements and improve processes.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and support continuous improvements of data workflows and systems.
  • Contribute to SOPs and best practices for environmental data management.
  • Help design and enhance internal applications used for date ingestion, QA/QC, scheduling, and reporting.
