About The Position

The Environmental Compliance Program Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our ongoing environmental initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental science and regulatory compliance within a dynamic, mission-driven team. The ideal candidate is passionate about environmental stewardship, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and interested in how environmental compliance supports responsible business operations.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma/GED plus college degree-seeking student in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Conservation Biology, Zoology, or a closely related field ; or recent graduate and <1 year relevant experience.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required.
  • Strong interest in environmental regulations, wildlife compliance, and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software as needed.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel or crouch.
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Visual ability correctable to 20/20.
  • Sitting up to 90% of the day.
  • Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone.
  • Manual dexterity to input data into the computer and the calculator and operate the equipment listed above.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of environmental compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct research and data analysis related to environmental regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Support the development and delivery of training sessions and outreach activities for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on projects related to environmental permitting, audits, and regulatory documentation.
  • Help maintain records and ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements.
