This position provides occupational safety and health consultation services to private employers throughout Idaho. Through inspection of workplaces, identification of hazards, development of safety and health programs and issuance of reports to clients on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, the consultant assists those clients in protection of their employees and avoidance of enforcement actions by the federal compliance agency. This position is not eligible for a hybrid/remote work schedule. This position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship. Department Overview: Facilities Operations and Maintenance supports the university’s strategic mission by professionally maintaining safe, functional and attractive facilities and grounds, while also providing quality support services to the campus community. Level Scope: Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
