The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks related to the integration of environmental factors and considerations into the decision making of government agencies, Specific duties will include conducting environmental impact assessment of proposed actions; conducting interdisciplinary environmental and regulatory reviews; interacting with government agencies and the public on environmental review and permitting procedures; utilizing computer-assisted programs to manage, track and schedule review activities; examining and reviewing Environmental Permit Applications and SEQR documents in accordance with applicable regulations and DEC policies; providing written and verbal guidance to the regulated public and other agencies on DEC permit jurisdictions and other related matters; conducting and leading in person and virtual meetings; using computer for e-mail, word processing, permit writing, GIS, and environmental impact review; project team management; performing field work inspecting project sites and conducting pre-application meetings; participating in off-site meetings; and maintaining digital and paper records and files per DEC retention and storage policies.
