About The Position

The Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Generalist works with site EH&S and Operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. You will support Collins Aerospace standards and the implementation and oversight for high-risk control programs in a complex manufacturing environment. The EH&S Generalist is an essential role on-site in Carroll, IA. Frequent travel to West Des Moines location is desired.

Requirements

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Nice To Haves

Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Manufacturing experience
Education or experience in EH&S regulatory compliance, safety culture, and/or EH&S management systems.

Responsibilities

Conduct workplace hazard analyses/assessments, coordinating team involvement for the identification and implementation of corrective actions/controls to mitigate risks.
Partner with the leadership team and line supervision to ensure the best EH&S practices and standard work are relentlessly driven across the site.
Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team.
Oversee, review, update and implement the facility environmental, health and safety programs, permits, reports, training, and procedures.
Drive the hazard risk assessment strategy, program evaluation, audits and other required EH&S initiatives.
Conduct incident investigations and implement root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses.
Drive action plans to meet goals, to ensure compliance, and to improve customer service, employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts in EH&S operations.
