The Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing (IPM) HSE organization provides Health, Safety and Environmental support and expertise to a large manufacturing organization producing sterile medicine for patients around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required. Prefer degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene or other STEM field
  • 5+ years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in Health, Safety and Environmental
  • Knowledge and familiarity with HSE regulations, codes and standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.)
  • HSE experience including deep technical knowledge in high-risk aspects, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection/Prevention, Machine/Equipment Safeguarding
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to synthesize complex technical information and develop practical solutions
  • Project management skills including capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while incorporating cross-functional stakeholder engagement
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with HSE data and metrics, including experience with data visualization tools and dashboards
  • Previous experience supporting or working in manufacturing areas

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily HSE support to assigned areas, including metrics data and recommendations for continuous HSE improvement
  • Act as subject matter expert for HSE aspects and prepares detailed HSE aspect self-assessments including opportunities for improvement, actions to close gaps and continuous improvement of the aspect
  • Provide project support, including initial HSE impact assessment for change controls to ensure thorough implementation of required HSE aspects and actions
  • Collaborate and influence cross-functional leadership and area employees to ensure a strong safety culture to keep IPM employees safe
  • Maintain HSE compliance with IPM procedures, Global HSE Standards and all applicable external regulations.
  • Provide HSE subject-matter expertise for incident investigations, area change controls and HSE functional initiatives
  • Actively assist on site governance and area safety teams, helping develop and track key performance indicators to monitor results and drive improvement action when needed
  • Leads development of digital tools and automation to improve management of HSE data and visualization
