About The Position

Pape’ Material Handling, a premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Parts Sales Counterperson I to join their team. In this role, the individual will learn to respond to customer needs for parts in person or by telephone at the branch, determine customer parts needs using literature, computer programs, and parts knowledge, and recommend parts or services.

Requirements

• Self-motivated, winning attitude, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform at a high level in a fast pace and team-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person in an effort to sell company parts and other services.
• Good computer skills and basic familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and various search engines.
• Above-average organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be coachable, motivated, and enjoy building relationships with current and potential customers.

• Prior history with counter sales or parts inventory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of products, services, and parts and the associated costs of each.
• Complete all necessary paperwork on each transaction in an accurate and timely manner.
• Respond to customers in person or by telephone whenever required and provide quotes or estimates for parts.
• Process credits, make adjustments, and monitor for restocking charges on all parts sales completed.
• Operate a forklift to handle pallets of product. (Forklift training is available.)
