About The Position

Works cooperatively with departmental staff as well as other departments within the district and external users or vendors of MNPS. Works within the established policies and procedures of MNPS and current federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Information Technology Required
  • 3-5 years experience in a medium to large corporate environment Required
  • Experience working with Storage Area Networks, server hardware upgrades and repair Required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems2012 or later, network administration support, current server hardware/software support and maintenance, and managing a virtualized server environment.
  • LAN/WAN knowledge, management and support
  • System administration and maintenance.
  • Self-motivated, with a willingness to take on new assignments, and the ability to work alone and in a collaborative group environment.
  • Organized and detailed in daily tasks
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders via written and oral methods.

  • Project management experience is often valued for large-scale deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily file system and database configuration, maintenance and management procedures.
  • Maintains premises-based and cloud tenant resources for, Active Directory, Exchange environments, and other centrally managed applications and systems on both physical and virtual platforms.
  • Coordinates with network administrators , business application owners/managers, database administration and help desk functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of systems to meet corporate objectives.
  • Provides 'tier 3’ technical support to ’teir 2’ technology staff and end-users as needed, where it relates to enterprise systems and applications.
  • Recommends and executes modifications to systems, following the districts change control process, to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Assists in implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and associated training plans for systems administration and their appropriate use.
  • Ensures\enforces security standards as it relates to, information interchange\file security, server\application hardening, and account management.
  • Participates in key process improvements for all computing environments throughout the organization, that interoperate with centrally managed resources.
