About The Position

The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Information Technology (IT) Manager will be responsible for providing Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) IT services for 5 enterprise networks and to customers located throughout the world. Incumbent will manage teams responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE. This position requires managerial experience as well as a strong technical background working with Windows and Red Hat operating systems, VMware hypervisors, and experience with cybersecurity and patching tools such as HBSS, ACAS, Tanium, SCCM, Satellite, etc.  This job requires regular interface with senior and mid-level military personnel, government, and contractor event ops personnel, as well as engineering staff throughout the organization.  The candidate will lead and train junior personnel and have oversight of most IT Ops related efforts.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of progressive relevant experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of progressive relevant experience, OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of progressive relevant experience.
  • Professional Experience: Background in project coordination, project support, or leadership.
  • Exposure to enterprise environments, preferably with cross‑functional or multi‑team projects.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT systems (e.g., infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, ERP systems).
  • Skills & Competencies: Ability to read, analyze, and digest technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to manage customer needs and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Credentials: Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GSEC, or equivalent).
  • Must hold a DoD Secret clearance; be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS or SCCM
  • Experience with Windows Servers 2016/2019 and Active Directory
  • Windows desktop operating systems (WIN10 SHB)
  • RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience highly desired
  • Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Experience with VMware
  • Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills

  • Leads and directs one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations.
  • Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team.
  • Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical and scope requirements of the assignment.
  • Keeps current on advances in the field of IT.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
  • Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
  • Adheres to all IT governance policies and procedures.
