About The Position

You will serve as the technical lead for the M365 ecosystem, driving the engineering of secure, automated solutions across identity, messaging, and collaboration services. This role is responsible for tenant optimization, technical governance, and the unification of on-premises infrastructure with cloud-native solutions to ensure a resilient, high-performing environment. We are seeking a proactive Senior Engineer who integrates a security-first mindset with deep technical knowledge of the M365 ecosystem. You excel at using PowerShell and/or Python to automate complex workflows, enhance collaboration tools, and strengthen identity management processes. With a broad understanding of both on-premises and cloud infrastructures, you proactively manage platform changes to keep our systems optimized. Beyond your technical skills, you are comfortable and effective at leading others to understand complex topics and delivering exceptional support.

Requirements

  • Expert in multiple key technologies/platforms within the technology stack with a solid understanding of security.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and technical/non-technical stakeholders.
  • Degree in technical (STEM) field and four years’ experience in technical role preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Management & Administration: Implements, upgrades, and maintains tenant, Azure, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio), Exchange Online (mail flow, groups), Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint, Purview, Defender, and processes and leads peers to an understanding of complex topics.
  • Identity & Access Management: Responsible for security and compliance policies within Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, and Zero Trust Principals. Demonstrate features of Entra ID to modernize identity solutions and implement identity governance.
  • Security & Compliance: Manage M365 security and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview (DLP, eDiscovery, retention, sensitivity labels, auditing) and Microsoft Defender to protect organizational data and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Automation and Scripting: Build PowerShell scripts that use Microsoft Graph API for automation of administrative tasks, reporting, and integrations with other systems.
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance by establishing baselines, troubleshoot issues by analyzing trends, and ensure that optimizations are effective.
  • Project Management & Documentation: Exercises technical and task leadership on moderate to large projects with minimal supervision required by senior staff and management.
  • Leadership: Provides technical direction, training, and coaching to others to develop skills and introduce new concepts.
  • Develop and enforce collaboration governance frameworks while mitigating risks associated with non-standard practices through pragmatic, high-level problem-solving and process optimization
  • Engineer and validate integrations between M365 and third-party ecosystems, ensuring robust workflow automation and system compatibility.
  • Anticipate downstream dependencies and potential service disruptions to maintain high platform availability and performance.
  • Lead technical adoption strategies and change management to ensure high utilization of M365 features, aligning platform capabilities with organizational business objectives
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
