About The Position

The Senior Director, Enterprise Applications is a senior IT leader responsible for driving enterprise application strategy, leading transformational change, and owning delivery execution across the organization. This role serves as a forward-facing technology partner to business and executive leadership while maintaining direct accountability for application delivery outcomes. The Senior Director, Enterprise Applications leads the modernization and evolution of enterprise application platforms, enabling scalable, high-quality solutions through modern delivery practices, AI-enabled capabilities, and strong execution discipline. This role bridges vision and delivery—translating strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps and consistently delivering results through aligned products, delivery, SQA, onboarding, and vendor teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with responsibility for enterprise applications and delivery execution, including directing a team to success.
  • Demonstrated success leading technology transformation initiatives while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of modern application delivery practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, test automation, and cloud-based architecture.
  • Experience partnering with products, SQA, onboarding, and operations teams in complex delivery environments.
  • Proven ability to influence executives and business leaders through clear communication and strategic thinking.
  • Extensive experience managing vendors, contracts, and delivery governance models.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor to business and executive stakeholders, aligning enterprise application capabilities with organizational strategy and priorities.
  • Represent the enterprise applications organization in executive forums, steering committees, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into clear, achievable delivery plans and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes with transparency.
  • Influence decision-making through strong executive presence, clear storytelling, and outcome-based reporting.
  • Lead the enterprise applications transformation agenda, including modernization, cloud adoption, platform rationalization, and automation initiatives.
  • Define and execute a multi-year enterprise applications roadmap that balances innovation, scalability, risk, and operational stability.
  • Champion adoption of AI-enabled solutions to enhance development productivity, quality, operational insight, and business outcomes.
  • Drive organizational change by evolving operating models, delivery practices, and team capabilities.
  • Own end-to-end delivery accountability for enterprise application initiatives—from planning and development through testing, release, onboarding, and support.
  • Establish execution frameworks, delivery standards, and governance models that enable predictable, high-quality outcomes.
  • Actively manage dependencies, risks, and resource alignment across multiple delivery streams.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are met while maintaining application reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Partner closely with Product Management to align roadmaps, prioritization, and delivery sequencing with business outcomes.
  • Ensure tight integration with SQA teams to embed quality, test automation, and release readiness throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Aligning with onboarding, deployment, and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from delivery to adoption and support.
  • Drive shared accountability and clarity across teams through defined roles, handoffs, and success metrics.
  • Champion Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps, automation, and release orchestration to improve delivery velocity, quality, and resiliency.
  • Leverage metrics and insights to drive continuous improvement in cycle time, defect rates, deployment success, and customer satisfaction.
  • Standardize tooling, environments, and delivery practices across enterprise application teams.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing application delivery and engineering leaders through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Oversee vendor strategy and execution, ensuring strong governance, performance accountability, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Manage application delivery budgets, cost optimization initiatives, and investment prioritization.
  • Ensure internal teams and external partners operate as a cohesive delivery ecosystem.
