About The Position

The Enrollment Communications Specialist is accountable for managing the fulfillment of custom enrollment communications supporting the business. This position would champion Benefits Communication & Education at point of enrollment through a thorough understanding of case specifics, opportunity assessment, and account customer expectations. A unique blend of proven project management skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills are a key for success in this role. This position will work closely with the requesting party, which may be a broker, or home office employee, to devise and implement case specific benefit communications strategies. The Enrollment Communications Specialist is also expected to provide insights and advice based on experience and best practices leading to heightened employee engagement and optimal participation during the enrollment process.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business or related field
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work successfully in a changing work environment, establishing and maintaining positive ongoing relationships with a wide variety of levels of management.
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple, concurrent projects with critical deadline demands and consistently delivering on time and within budget
  • Strong sense of urgency and outstanding time management skills
  • Extremely good follow through on details and action items
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence
  • Ability to comfortably and professionally interact with external customers and decision makers
  • Strong communicator who demonstrates professionalism under pressure.
  • Accuracy, excellent organization, interpersonal skills are a must.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients, client managers, implementation managers, and field to assess and understand case specific dynamics, resulting in actionable recommendations for improved enrollment communications strategies.
  • Through the study and evaluation of market insights, and understanding the needs of brokers and clients, make recommendations and develop enhanced benefit communication and education strategies and techniques.
  • Project manages and execute fulfillment of the benefits communication strategies for custom communications supporting enrollments.
  • Interfaces and collaborates cross-functionally and globally with Unum US when there is a need to develop a communications plan outside of basic enrollment material.
  • Influence the transition from traditional communication solutions to digital alternatives by sharing the availability and benefits of the digital alternatives.
  • Drive the implementation of new programs and management of existing (enhancements & updates) programs that are designed to drive new sales growth.
  • Develop & maintain a library of enrollment communication material that is available for use by the business area as well as the field
  • Provide support and expertise to the recruiting and development team or the inforce growth & development area that are designed to lead to systematic adoption of activities that lead directly to sales new or inforce).
  • Directly position communication strategies in kickoff calls with agents/brokers/clients
  • Facilitate the editing and approval of communication materials by working directly with agents/brokers
  • Serve as point of contact for agents/brokers seeking communications-only support
  • Create communication markups based on agent/broker requests to initiate design process
  • May perform other duties as assigned
