The Enrollment Center Student Employee will provide customer service primarily via phone to students, parents, and community members who visit/contact the Enrollment Center by providing general information about the enrollment process and resources available at the college. The student will serve as the first point of contact for students and community members who enter the Enrollment Center. They will also serve as a triage between the students and staff based on the student's needs using the queuing system software. The student will also provide services including, but not limited to admission, financial assistance, advising, registration, payment, and student records in alignment with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This role will also provide administrative support to Enrollment Services such as shredding, scanning, filing, and completing special projects as needed. All work will be performed on the assigned campus. Campus Location : Skokie Length of Employment : Summer 2026 semester- with an opportunity to renew. Can a student do homework in this position? Sometimes- during slow periods with approval from the supervisor. Hours needed : Monday- Thursday: 8:30 am- 5:00 pm. Schedule Flexibility : Once the schedules is created, any requests to change schedules will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The student employee supervisor can refuse schedule changes (separate from time-off requests). Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes: -Complete a three-week mandatory training with the Enrollment Center followed by a one month probationary period (PF) - Assist students and parents by delivering integrated information about the enrollment process of admission, registration, financial aid assistance and payment. (CM, PF) - Provide services related to admission, financial assistance, advising, registration, payment and records (CM, PF) - Comply with federal, state and institutional laws including the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act. (EI, PF & CD) - Work independently. (CD, LD) - Office administrative tasks including but not limited to: processing incoming mail, scanning, indexing, forwarding mail to appropriate department, shredding confidential documents, filing in alphabetical order, restocking supplies and materials (TC, CT, TW) - Assist students with self service tasks through multiple forms of interaction including but limited to in person, over the phone, and via written communications (TC, CM, LD) - Work on special projects as needed (CT, CD) - Refer students to other departments as needed (CT, CM) - Work with students and community members from diverse backgrounds (EI, CM) Student Employment Learning Outcomes Defined: The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has identified 8 career readiness competencies that broadly prepare college students for a successful transition to the workplace.
