About The Position

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking a passionate and dedicated Enrolled Nurse to join our Anaesthetics department on a permanent basis, with both full-time and part-time options available to suit your lifestyle. You'll be working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment where compassionate, patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually. In this role, you'll deliver high-quality, delegated nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to exceptional patient outcomes across the Anaesthetics department.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant clinical specialty
  • High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • A strong understanding of, and commitment to, professional, legal, and ethical nursing standards
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • A genuine passion for patient-centred care and continuous learning

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments using a structured approach, and maintaining clear communication with the supervising Registered Nurse
  • Implementing planned, evidence-based nursing interventions within your scope of practice, as delegated by and in collaboration with the RN
  • Supporting effective discharge planning and patient education using relevant health resources
  • Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring informed consent is obtained and sensitively navigating barriers to patient understanding
  • Contributing to a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control policies, quality improvement frameworks, and organisational procedures
  • Collaborating with a broad multidisciplinary team including medical staff, Allied Health, Clinical Nurse Consultants, and nursing colleagues
  • Participating in the teaching and mentoring of nursing students and less experienced Enrolled Nurses
  • Supporting continuous professional development for yourself and others
