About The Position

Are you a dynamic Enrolled Nurse (EN) ready to make a lasting impact? We are currently seeking passionate and experienced ENs to join high-performing teams across a variety of specialised units at our progressive healthcare facility. Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Enrolled Nurses to join us in a mixture of full-time and part-time roles. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Requirements

  • You will have a minimum of 12 months full time experience in the relevant area as an Enrolled Nurse:
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
  • High level of communication skill including the ability to relate with elder patients in a dignified and respectful manner
  • The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
  • The successful applicant will be self-motivated, self-starter who can work collaboratively with other speciality representatives to achieve a common goal.
  • Further, you will be committed to providing quality care and service to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Utilising a structured approach to carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients in a variety of settings and maintains communication about the results of those assessments with the Registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM).
  • Within scope of practice, implement planned evidence-based nursing interventions as delegated and in collaboration with the RN/RM.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of their nursing interventions in achieving predicted outcomes in collaboration with the RN/RM.
  • Initiates effective discharge planning processes as delegated by the RN/RM.
  • Educates patients using relevant resources to maintain and promote health as delegated by the RN/RM.
  • Acts as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to treatment, investigation and management as appropriate and assists/negotiates sensitively with patients where there may be barriers to understanding.
