About The Position

The English Language Development (ELD) Coordinator provides districtwide leadership for English Learner (EL) programming to ensure equitable access to grade-level curriculum and academic success for all EL students. This position is responsible for overseeing program implementation, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, supporting instructional effectiveness, and monitoring student progress. In addition to district leadership responsibilities, the ELD Coordinator will serve in a 0.5 instructional role at Central Primary School, providing targeted English language development services to students in grades 1–3. This dual-role position is designed to strengthen early language acquisition and improve long-term academic outcomes for English Learners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching license
  • Endorsement in TESOL
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, preferably with English Learners

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in TESOL, Bilingual Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Experience in program coordination, instructional coaching, or leadership roles
  • Knowledge of federal programs, including Title III requirements
  • Experience with data analysis and progress monitoring systems

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the district’s English Learner program to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation across all schools
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements related to EL services, including Title III and other applicable programs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor district EL plans, procedures, and program models
  • Collaborate with school administrators and instructional staff to support EL program fidelity
  • Analyze EL student data (e.g., language proficiency, academic performance, reclassification rates) to guide decision-making and program improvement
  • Prepare reports and documentation required for state and federal accountability
  • Provide ongoing professional development and coaching to teachers on effective ELD strategies, sheltered instruction, and language acquisition practices
  • Support integration of language development across content areas
  • Assist teachers in using data to differentiate instruction for English Learners
  • Develop and share instructional resources aligned to English language proficiency standards
  • Deliver targeted, small-group English language development instruction to students in grades 1–3 at Central Primary School
  • Design and implement lessons aligned to students’ English proficiency levels and academic needs
  • Monitor and document student progress in language acquisition and literacy development
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align ELD instruction with core content
  • Support communication with families of English Learners regarding program services and student progress
  • Promote family engagement strategies that support language development and academic success
