About The Position

As an Engineering Technician V, you will be regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and use your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. You'll be responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems. You'll ensure our systems and components meet established specifications. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study, at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Comprehensive understanding of the use of standard laboratory test equipment, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, Oscilloscope, Pitot static equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools
  • Ability to Obtain/Maintain Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of complex systems
  • Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation
  • Understanding of soldering techniques
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with technical documentation and writing of repair/trouble shooting documentation
  • Experience with Linux systems
  • Experience with RF cable testing
  • Cable build and system assembly
  • Experience with IPv4 and IPv6
  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide and inspect the work of subordinates
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US Military
