About The Position

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support government clients with hardware and software upgrades at various sites. This role requires a highly adaptable professional who can support extensive domestic and international travel. The ideal candidate is flexible, responsive to changing schedules, and comfortable working in dynamic environments. Eligibility for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance is required. This position is based in the Lexington Park, MD area and currently requires an onsite schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communications abilities
  • Experience using MS Office products
  • Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must maintain a valid passport
  • All applicants for this position must have a current Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
  • This position involves significant travel commitments - approximately 50-75% - to include CONUS and OCONUS locations. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and availability to support prolonged travel durations and consecutive travel assignments as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC-620 and/or J-STD certification(s)
  • Experience with testing fiber and/or copper
  • Current Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and install various equipment into racks for Navy shore sites and ships
  • Inspect equipment such as computers, servers, KVM consoles, etc. to ensure they were not damaged prior to rack integration
  • Perform power checks on all equipment before rack integration
  • Terminate wires in place, including MIL-spec connectors, power, cables, Ethernet, coax, and others
  • Complete system power check once racks are fully integrated
  • Redline drawings during rack integration and site installation
  • Review drawings for procurement needs and any metal work that needs to be fabricated (e.g. brackets, shelves, faceplates, and rails)
  • Perform cable fabrication and other complex technical functions in support of engineering activities.
  • Wire and label all power and network cables in racks
  • Perform fault isolation and troubleshooting tasks using digital multi-meters and other technical tools as required
  • Work from schematics, drawings, and verbal instruction
  • Diagnose equipment and system malfunctions and repair as needed
  • Support overtime requests, as needed
