About The Position

The Engineering Technician II independently performs a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across the resort, including diagnosing issues in building systems. This role requires solid technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to balance guest service with operational priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certification preferred
  • 2–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit properties
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • EPA certification and/or pool operator certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective time management and task prioritization
  • Professional communication with guests, team members, and vendors
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work on ladders, rooftops, and confined spaces
  • Ability to respond to on-call or after-hours emergencies as scheduled

Nice To Haves

  • EPA certification and/or pool operator certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair issues in: HVAC systems (PTAC units, thermostats, air handlers)
  • Plumbing systems (toilets, supply lines, minor pipe repairs)
  • Electrical systems (outlets, switches, lighting circuits)
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules for guest rooms, buildings, and equipment
  • Service and maintain resort pools and spas: Test and adjust chemical levels (as certified) Inspect pumps, filters, and heaters
  • Repair and maintain appliances and fixtures, including: Kitchen appliances Laundry equipment Furniture and cabinetry
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance emergencies (power outages, leaks, equipment failures)
  • Accurately document completed work orders, parts used, and time spent
  • Assist with minor renovations, painting, drywall repairs, and finish work
  • Provide technical assistance and informal training to Tier 1 technicians
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions or upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper tool usage
