About The Position

Truestone, an Akima company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician II to support the C4ISR Testing, Installation, and Integration (CTII) program aboard the CVN-74. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or systems engineering support, including equipment installation, integration, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Able to pass a government customer background check (NNSY background check).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in shipboard or military system installations and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with shipboard safety standards and practices, including tag-out and confined space procedures.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (multimeters, fiber testers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, cable run sheets, and system drawings.
  • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, and working in tight shipboard environments.
  • Willingness to travel and support surge tasking as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and ability to work in a team-focused environment.
  • Travel: Up to 25% as required.
  • Location: Suffolk, VA / Shipboard (CVN-74) and Shore-Based Sites.
  • Overtime: Opportunity for OT as approved.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Navy or defense contractor experience on C4ISR or combat systems.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • OSHA 10 Maritime certification.
  • Experience supporting CVN-class ship modernization or RCOH projects.
  • Technical training or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, modification, and testing of shipboard electronic systems and components.
  • Conduct fault isolation, maintenance, and repairs on C4I/C4ISR systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work specifications.Support structured cabling installations (copper and fiber), panel terminations, and equipment rack integration.
  • Perform system verification tests, record results, and support configuration management requirements.
  • Maintain clean workspaces, follow safety protocols, and support QA walkthroughs and documentation.
  • Coordinate with shipboard leads, government customers, and teammates to accomplish assigned work packages.
  • Participate in ship checks and site surveys as needed.
  • Willing to work 1st or 2nd shift.
