About The Position

The Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute is looking to hire a new Electronics Technician II. The Electronics Technician II will install, operate and repair a variety of electronic equipment used for research, instructional, or plant operation activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience as an electronics technician.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, spectrum analyzers, digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, radio test equipment, meters, signal generators, amp meters, voltmeters, and other digital instruments.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree/vocational school.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane and operate and repair electrical switch gear.
  • Ability to repair power supply.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits using necessary equipment.
  • Repair mechanical and electrical equipment as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as necessary and instruct students on the proper use of equipment.
  • Help design and fabricate electronic equipment.
  • Document, repair and design electronics systems using AutoCAD and/or pCad as required.
  • Establish and oversee standard operating procedures.
  • Perform research tasks.
