About The Position

This position provides engineering assistance to the Mixtures Control Unit in the inspection and documentation of mixtures incorporated on highway construction projects.Essential Functions Ensures mixture producers meet the requirements of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, project plans, and special provisions. Ensures proper documentation and assignment of all materials and tests. Performs inspections and testing to cover mixture production and project needs. Prepares plant and field reports as directed. Develops a good working relationship with construction personnel, contractors, and producers. Attends and successfully completes assigned training. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum OR two years of engineering experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Districtwide travel.
  • Successful completion of a background screening.
