About The Position

In accordance with the goals and initiatives set forth by Enerflex and the Engineering Department, the Engineering Technician will assist with creating bills-of-materials (BOM’s) and/or building part numbers in SAP; and Document Control through the processing and distribution of engineering documents (datasheets, reports, calculations, equipment orders, drawings, vendor documents). The Engineer Tech will work under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager or his/her designate to support engineering on projects. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Adding items to BOMs for purchase based on Engineering direction. Ensures that accurate part numbers are created in SAP for use. Collaborates with Supply Chain as required on BOM issues. Creates and maintains the Instrument Index for a project. Updates Instrument Datasheets with information provided by Engineers. Creating and maintaining the manual valve list based on the P&IDs. Maintains Document Control using the Enerflex Document Control system, Wrench SmartProject, for the Project Execution Team via the following actions: Monitors the Document Control inbox in Outlook for incoming vendor documentation and questions from vendors. Manages incoming Vendor documentation that must be reviewed by the team via Bluebeam sessions. Utilizes Wrench to return vendor documentation to the vendor after Enerflex review. Releases documents through Wrench for both internal (shop) and external (client) customers according to schedule. Works with Engineering and drafting to assure project requirements and schedules are met. Reviews project purchase orders versus valve lists and instrument lists and updates project documentation as appropriate. When necessary, obtains and evaluates vendor quotations, covering vendor inquiries and preparing justification selection based on specifications. Develop solutions to problems that arise on the projects. Assist engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes. Internal Customer Service Includes interfacing with Enerflex Project Management, Engineering, Drafting, Purchasing, Shop, Quality and Vendors to ensure specified items are ordered according to specifications. Respond in a timely manner to all queries from internal customers. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping Other Responsibilities Promote and adhere to HSE policies and procedures. Ensure all engineering activities are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE regulations. Support and collaborate on generation and development of department goals and objectives. Training of new employees as required. Expectations at Enerflex Adhering to core business hours unless meetings or personal appointments prevail. Ensure managers and other interested parties within the organization know our whereabouts during core hours. Efficient work habits. Consistently maintain a positive “Can-Do” attitude and foster a “Can-Do” attitude of the people that work with us. Requirements

  • High School graduate.
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Fluency in English

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to the oil & gas or related industry would be beneficial
  • Experience with SAP or MRP systems preferred.
  • Two years’ experience with fabrication and assembly of process equipment.
  • Experience with packaging Gas Processing and Treating Plants
  • Software familiarity (SAP, Wrench, Bluebeam, Excel)
