About The Position

This position is accountable for assisting the squad in the preparation of plans for highway and bridge improvements by performing drafting, calculations, and routine tasks. Essential Functions: Drafts simple and basic layouts of highway improvements which are used in preparing complete sets of design plans. Performs quantity calculations for accuracy and completeness. Accomplishes assigned tasks in a timely manner to facilitate the letting of contracts on schedule. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum; OR Two years of technical experience in engineering.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Districtwide travel to active construction sites.
  • Successful completion of a background screening.
