ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I - ASSISTANT STRUCTURAL INVENTORY TECH - BUREAU OF BRIDGES AND STRUCTURES
About The Position
This position is responsible for maintaining a structure inventory system which is comprised of the plans of all state-maintained structures on the Illinois Highway System and for providing immediate reference including updates to Bureau of Bridges and Structures’ (BBS) personnel and personnel from other agencies. Essential Functions: Assists in maintaining a structure plan inventory system in an efficient and orderly manner. Assists in providing an effective cross-referencing system for state-maintained structures. Assists with organizing and maintaining the Bureau of Bridges and Structures’ (BBS) file room system including combining electronic PDF files, when needed. Prepares correspondence and other structure related files for microfilm. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, or a job related technical/science curriculum. OR Two years of engineering experience.
- Successful completion of a background screening.
