ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I - ASSISTANT FABRICATION INSPECTION TECH - BUREAU OF BRIDGES AND STRUCTURES
About The Position
This position assists in the field inspection of fabricated steel and aluminum structural materials utilized in the construction of simple bridge and traffic structures and related highway appurtenances. Essential Functions:Ensures that structural materials and members utilized in simple bridges and related highway structures meet departmental specifications and policies.Ensures that all structural materials, fabrication procedures, welding techniques and non-destructive testing are in accordance with departmental specifications and policies.Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, or a job related technical/science curriculum. OR Two years of engineering experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Out-of-state travel with occasional overnight stays.
- Successful completion of a background screening.
