About The Position

Test, diagnose, repair, configure, and perform preventative maintenance on network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers supporting FAA’s FTI, ADS-B, MFN-2, and DCNS networks. Manage configuration, software, and licensing changes for Cisco, Juniper, and various other networking and telecommunications equipment. Operate and test with various electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RF generators, VIAVI 5800, and Tempo Datascout. Terminate and build cable connectors (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25) and replacements as needed. Maintain records of repairs, changes, and updates in homegrown database systems. Ensure a safe and clean work environment using principles of 5S. Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds (22.67 kg).

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust Clearance.

  • Familiarity with Cisco devices and command-line interfaces using terminal software (e.g., Putty, TeraTerm, Hyperterm, Procomm).
  • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Team player who is proactive and customer-oriented with a sense of urgency to achieve tasks or goals.
  • High level of initiative and willingness to learn.
  • Military training or trade school program in electronics or IT systems.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
