A Day in the Life The Engineering Tech IV will help develop products and processes at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) for the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) business. Our Cardiac Rhythm Management Operating Unit offers devices and therapies that treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure. It is comprised of four key businesses: Cardiac Pacing Therapies, Defibrillation Solutions, Cardiovascular Diagnostics & Services, and Patient Care Systems. Together, we will transform the lives of people with cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. We are working onsite a minimum of 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Requirements

  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (United States), vocational or technical education or certification (all other countries)
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute experiments, destructive analysis, and measurements to feed development of new products
  • Provide technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products
  • Monitor instruments and equipment and collect operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products
  • Analyze and resolve malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems
  • Conduct, analyze and prepare reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses
  • Maintain process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
