Developing high performers includes: Upholding values Collaborating with others and teamwork Developing people Seeking new perspectives Driving organization performance includes: Delivering results Executing work in the best interest of the enterprise Resolving Problems Upholding standards of performance Supervisors at Electric Boat reflect who we are and what we believe by exhibiting our Core Values of Valuing Each Other Behaving with Integrity and Purpose Committing to Excellence This position is for an Engineering Supervisor for the VIRGINIA Ship Control Construction and In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) team who is responsible for the supervision of personnel assigned to a wide range of engineering tasks related to design, initial hardware production, shipboard installation, test, delivery, and at-sea testing of new or modernized Ship Control components and systems aboard nuclear submarines. For delivered submarines, the group also provides fleet support to respond to emergent and/or operational issues. The team is expected to support development of ShipALTs and prepares maintenance and logistic documentation. As the supervisor of this group, your responsibilities in support of leading your team will include: Assigning work Providing guidance and direction Delivering results in safety, technical quality, cost and schedule performance Closely coordinating with the waterfront organizations and processes at Groton and HII-NNS Interfacing with US NAVY Fleet, NAVSEA, NSWCCD and SUPSHIP customers Approving engineering documentation, engineering dispositions to 3G, 7G ( Reports, LARs, UNSATS, , PDDI, etc.), Technical Work Documents (CPRs), ILS documentation, Work Deferral Requests, Departures from Specification, etc. ShipALT development (system & component drawings) Engineering Support of various FBW Special Emphasis Program Audits As co-isea perform crew training and crew surveys Support incentive design performance goals for the dept Fostering a collaborative, hands-on, proactive, and technically rigorous approach to engineering and problem solving in a dynamic and time-sensitive environment Ensuring that the root causes for problems are identified and the production/test program is modified to eliminate errors as early as possible in the process Staffing to support shipyard construction and delivery schedules Supporting employee professional development and preservation of critical technical skills and knowledge Support and travel at new construction sites (Groton, and Newport News) and US Naval Shipyards under the ISEA tasks. Supporting work outside of normal working hours, as required, to support VIRGINIA Program Objectives

Requirements

Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Electrical, Systems or Computer Engineering
5 or more years of engineering experience, including construction support experience
Current active Department of Defense Secret security clearance
Strong verbal and writing skills
Must work well with all levels of trades, trade management, program office, engineering, and the Navy customer
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to effectively communicate
Possess strong organization skills
Project Management skills (ability to manage several projects at the same time)
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to function independently as well as work in a multi‐discipline team environment
Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

Electrical/electronic waterfront, system integration, and military/submarine experience.
Proven experience in a time sensitive construction support environment
Experience with key event management and ship certification support; knowledge of construction sequence.
US Navy experience involving the operation and maintenance of ship control or other control systems is desirable.
Previous supervision or management experience is desired.
