About The Position

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department. In the absence of the Director of Engineering, the Supervisor will assume the hotel's operating aspects for the Engineering department.

  • Demonstrates reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, follow-through on tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and training.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the hotel's standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with the hotel's standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc., from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Continued engagement with technical and mechanical training and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the department, including but not limited to ordering supplies, submitting and tracking purchase orders, communicating with vendors regarding pending invoices, scheduling, and providing oversight and coordination with scheduled PMs ( preventive maintenance) for guestrooms and hotel equipment.
  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance, punctuality, follow-through on tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and training.

  • Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair.
  • Ensure that the hotel complies with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested, and certified per hotel standards or authority having jurisdiction.
  • Supervise the Engineers and ensure they are adequately trained in the customer service program, standard operating procedures, and loss prevention standards.
  • Review guest reviews to ensure that problems are identified and corrected promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations.
  • Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
  • Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
