Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant supervisory experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
  • Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Typically has strong experience in this area of expertise
  • Recognized internally and externally as an expert in their field
  • Demonstrates consistently high ratings on People Commitments
  • Travel is be required
  • Security clearance is required
  • Individual must be able to acquire and maintain a position within the Department of War (DoW) Nuclear Weapons personnel reliability program (PRP)

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in defining tools and processes used across the physical security program to ensure systems meet the required availability
  • Overall responsibility for the execution of the preventative and corrective maintenance accomplished by the individuals on your team
  • Responsible for the ensure the team of technicians and specialists have the critical skills and knowledge to perform assigned tasks with area of responsibility
  • Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of efforts within area of responsibility
  • Capable of identifying project risks, assessing issues and developing resolutions that meet cost, schedule productivity, quality, and customer objectives
  • Reviews status of projects, manages schedules, and prepares status reports
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and stakeholders
  • Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
  • Handles personnel issues within area of responsibility including merit planning, performance reviews and disciplinary actions
  • May be required to participate in the proposal process, including the development of executable project plans on proposals
  • Ensures process compliance of all activity in area of responsibility
  • Expected to consistently document monitors in accordance with local practices
  • Leads specific process improvement activities
  • Determines and implements the organizational training needs in accordance with the requirements of the physical security program
  • Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and employees
  • Communicates regularly with project customer, and OEM vendors, project teams, and internal management
  • Expected to manage work, set objectives and meet commitments for self and others
  • Delegates assignments to others for developing solutions
  • Responsible for establishing and achieving operational objectives for a moderately complex function, program or program scope
  • Expected to integrate complex activities
