Our scope includes expanding into new asset types, account structures, and global markets while integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll drive the design and development of modular, scalable web-based trading application. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data science, mentor engineers, and build a high-performing team. This hands-on role requires strong technical leadership, a passion for developing people, and sharp product judgment. This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 4 days per week. Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of engineering management experience leading product-focused engineering teams.
• Strong foundation in modern web engineering, with deep experience in technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Deep understanding of web architecture and best practices for building modular, scalable systems within large, evolving codebases.
• Proven ability to grow engineers across levels, through mentorship, feedback, and clear expectations that raise technical rigor and ownership.
• An execution-focused mindset with a strong passion for building and leading product-focused teams, capable of navigating ambiguity and delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team focused on building Legend’s next-generation trading experiences for web and desktop
• Set and communicate a clear technical direction aligned with product strategy, holding a high bar for quality, performance, and maintainability as the product scales.
• Partner cross-functionally with design, product, AI, and infrastructure teams to enhance the core product experience and enable expansion across new asset types, account structures, and geographies.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment where engineers across experience levels can do their best work, grow in their careers, and feel ownership over both technical outcomes and product impact.
• Be a thoughtful technical leader within the team, aiding in diligent architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.
