The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers supporting injection molding and metal stamping production operations. This role drives process optimization, continuous improvement, tooling performance, quality enhancements, and cost reduction initiatives while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. The Engineering Manager partners closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, Supply Chain, New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering, and Maintenance to achieve production targets and strategic business objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Science
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
  • CAD and related design computer software (SolidWorks, Creo, Unigraphics, etc.)
  • Medical instrumentation product knowledge
  • Manufacturing process knowledge
  • Knowledge of Quality System: ISO9001, ISO13845
  • Ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • Ability to solve problems and execute root cause analysis
  • Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and holds team members accountable
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers supporting molding and stamping operations
  • Drive process capability improvements, cycle time reductions, scrap reduction, and OEE improvements
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for production and quality issues
  • Support new production introductions, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and equipment commissioning
  • Collaborate with tooling teams on mold and die design, maintenance strategies, and lifecycle management
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives across the molding and stamping operations
  • Implement standardized work, process controls, and best practices
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve productivity and reduce labor dependency
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with internal quality system and industry regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 13485)
