About The Position

Working at Auberge requires a pursuit of excellence in luxury service delivery, and this role requires that same ambition. The Engineering Manager is responsible for working side by side with the team, ensuring guest and colleague comfort and safety at all times. Work as an active member of the management team. Creating professional relationships and active involvement with all hotel operations, including but not limited to daily and weekly management meetings, and support to all team members, including the Manager on Duty Shifts. Provide in-house mechanical and electrical servicing, repair, and maintenance using well-trained, presentable personnel who carry out maintenance work efficiently, discreetly, and in a guest-friendly manner. Ensure that all maintenance requests are prioritized and dealt with efficiently. Develop, train, and supervise a team of technically proficient and generally helpful technicians to carry out all maintenance and repair work according to technical specifications. Oversee and coordinate mechanical repairs, transportation, preventative maintenance, and ground/landscaping teams. Ensure the Fire system is operating properly and train the Maintenance team and key team members, e.g., the Night Audit, on fire emergency protocol. Troubleshoot IT hardware issues. Act as the “go to” in the absence of the Director of Engineering. Pay $65 - $70,000 based on experience

Requirements

  • Must have proven experience and a solid understanding of plumbing, HVAC, electric, spa and pool utilities, and carpentry.
  • Three years’ operating experience in the engineering department of a hotel or closely related industry. Luxury preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining state and federal health and safety regulations
  • Able to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to departmental and operational needs.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Window applications required.
