About The Position

Accountable for ensuring that manufacturing capabilities are optimized for efficiency of direct labor, cost effectiveness, and quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees product development, raw material and production trials assigned or designated by the plant. Implements and/or monitors cost reduction projects ensuring cost targets are met and product quality is maintained. Ensures that product costs and database systems are accurate and current. Oversees the application of Lean Manufacturing principles in operations, including process layouts, assembly equipment, process flow, and any interfacing with the maintenance department for physical plant resource issues. Works with operations, maintenance, and quality to identify continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities. Troubleshoots productivity, quality, and parts issues in manufacturing, determining root cause, correcting problems, and instituting processes to prevent the same (or similar) issues from recurring. Maintains and improves information technologies. Ensures that processes and procedures are documented and current. Implements and/or monitors process improvement efforts pertaining to plant layout, work methods, and equipment. Documents and advises on proper routing within the manufacturing process. Performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Manages Plant Manufacturing Engineering group, indirectly manages Development Engineering, and/or other areas as needed.
  • Capable of leading major projects
  • Experience in Design of Experiments, full data analysis and report writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification or advanced degree preferred
