Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a luxury environment with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.
  • Ability to communicate, direct, manage, and motivate a team.
  • Will be required to have effective and timely follow-up on projects.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Director of Engineering with the daily maintenance and physical plant operations, monitoring the condition of the hotel to ensure the highest standards of guest satisfaction.
  • Management of the Engineering team, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work assignments, appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Supervise, develop, and maintain ongoing maintenance, and daily operations for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, life safety, preventive maintenance of hotel rooms and common areas, HVAC, boilers and chillers, AHU units, swimming pool, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
  • Works closely with other departments (i.e., Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, Catering / Banquets and Security Departments on maintenance, repairs and events to ensure a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Understands government regulations affecting the hotel’s operations, ensuring the hotel operates in compliance with all applicable local laws, life safety regulations, and requirements of any federal, state, or municipal authority.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, creating purchase orders, scheduling, payroll and departmental expenses.
  • Assist in maintaining department checkbook and code invoices for payment accordingly.
  • Support the hotel’s Leadership Development Training and actively contribute to a culture of growth and accountability.
