About The Position

Are you a jack of all trades, if so, our Engineering Manager role will allow you to lead and train engineering team members in all technical and non-technical areas. This individual will be comfortable leading various projects from start to finish as well as focused on maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair all hotel systems including all H.V.A.C&R systems, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, water and wastewater systems, carpentry, tile, plumbing, painting and minor automotive repairs. Assume responsibilities of the Director of Engineering and Engineer Manager in their absence. Maintain complete knowledge of hotel fire system, water system, sewage system, and irrigation system Respond to all Guest Requests within a very timely manner Follow established safety procedures Log and communicate all essential information in Engineering logs The ability to handle the purchasing of equipment replacement parts and repairs. This includes contacting vendors for best prices, writing purchase orders, receiving goods and completing projects. Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis Duties include emergency on call status The starting pay range for this position is $80-85,000 annually. This is the pay rate for this position that Solage reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual pay will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-4 year experience as an Engineer / Maintenance Technician, preferably within a hotel or property management environment
  • Must be able to operate all Hotel systems and associated equipment
  • Need to be familiar with associated vendors and able to identify replacement parts, materials, and necessary tools
  • Ability to take action and make decisions whenever necessary as directed by the Director of Engineering or Engineer Manager
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions on assembly of mechanical equipment and furniture as well as follow directions on warning labels
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management
  • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
